Many fans may have noticed Stefan Tsonkov leaving the pitch with an ice pack on his knee. This caused some concern as the Bulgarian defender has become a vital part of the backline, helping the team secure two consecutive home wins since returning to the starting lineup.

However, we recently spoke with Tsonkov, and his update should reassure the Kirin faithful. “I felt pain in my knee since the start of the second half, and it gradually got worse,” he explained. “But now I think there is nothing to worry about. The knee is improving steadily. I hope this week-long break will help me get back to 100% for the next important match.”

Tsonkov also shared his thoughts on the atmosphere of the latest match, where Muangthong United defeated Chiangrai United 2-1. “The last game was very important for us. I am very proud of the commitment of all my teammates. This is the first time this season that we have come back to win after trailing. At halftime, we told ourselves we couldn’t retreat anymore—we had to come back. So, I am very happy with this victory.”
