Muangthong United was proud to host a special Father’s Day celebration during the recent Matchday 14 fixture against Chonburi FC. Several international schools in the area—including SISB, ISB, DBS, and Harrow—were invited to enjoy the atmosphere at Thunderdome Stadium.

Many families took advantage of the opportunity, seeing it as a perfect chance for a special outing with dad. For a large number of attendees, the match marked their first-ever Thai League fixture, showcasing the power of football to welcome new fans. To make the day extra special, the club ran a promotion offering a free ticket for dad!

Unforgettable Matchday Atmosphere | More Than Just The Score

Despite the final score ending in a narrow 3-2 loss, the attending families thoroughly enjoyed the matchday experience. The unyielding ULTRA drummers, the playful Kirin mascots, and the wide array of food and games available around the stadium created an electric and welcoming environment.

“This was my son’s first ever time to see a Thai football match. We loved it. It was very exciting,” said Jacob, who was pictured enjoying the day with his son.

Jacob and those around him were often on their feet as Muangthong United staged a late rally in the final minutes, coming agonizingly close to equalizing the score. The passion displayed by the players and the crowd was truly palpable.

The event was particularly meaningful as the official Thai Father’s Day falls on December 5th, the birthday of the revered King Rama 9 (King Bhumibol Adulyadej). It was a fitting way to honour his legacy by promoting family values and community spirit.
