MATCH REPORT

SCG Muangthong United 3-3 PT Prachuap FC
SCG Stadium
11-DEC-2020

The 5000+ fans in attendance (numbers limited for Covid-19 prevention) had to accept a single point as Muangthong United drew with PT Prachuap FC.

It was a wild and uneven match.  Muangthong United dominated and were clearly on top of the game, grabbing an early goal by Derley, tapping in the ball after it was not cleared from a corner kick.  Yet at the 35th minute Prachuap equalized when Kirin defenders failed to mark William Enrique, allowing him to place his shot into the lower right corner.

Shortly after defender Lucas Rocha had to be stretchered off in the latest in a series of recurring injuries to key players.  Youngster Chatchai Saengdao replaced him along side Marco Ballini.

The second half was, accordingly, a different game, as Muangthong United struggled to contain the powerful atticking duo of Brazilian forwards from Prachuap, allowing two more goals after being beaten to the ball when defending in the 18 yard box.

Derley was to pick up his second goal on a penalty shot.  Wing back Suporn was tripped up, and after a review of VAR the match official pointed to the spot.  PT Prachuap went ahead to make it 3-2, but then Sardor Mirzaev evened it up, heading in the ball from close range after the save came back to him.

SCG Muangthong United  will be in action again next Saturday, December 19th, as Suphanburi FC visit the SCG Stadium.  Tickets available at thaiticketmajor.com, or matchday at the stadium from 3PM onwards.
