Muangthong United sign a pair of 19-year-olds to bolster the line of defence ahead of Thailand's 2022-23 football season.

Hong Sung-Wook comes to Muangthong United on loan after his debut season in the K-League with Jeju United. The 1.86m tall defender has represented South Korea since he was 16. Sung-Wook is on loan for the first leg of the 2022-23 Thai League season, set to kick off in mid-August.

Said Wung-Wook, "I am proud to be able to sign with Muangthong, and I wish to carry on the tradition and legacy of the many Korean players to have featured with Muangthong over the years."

"I am anxious to meet the team and begin training and to prove myself to the team, the coach, and the fans, showing I am a strong defender for the club."

Ronan Pluijmen is a Thai-Dutch defender. He comes to Muangthong United after his debut season in the Eredivisie, the top level of Dutch football leagues.

Said Pluijmen, "I wanted to play here and win some trophies. This is a chance to develop myself, and my other goal is to land a place on the Thai national team."

"I know the fans here are passionate and wish to prove to them what I can do, and I will show myself and what I can do on the pitch."

Coach Mario welcomed the players to the club, "I'd like to thank Mr Ronnarit and everyone in the club for believing in our way, to develop younger players, it's the DNA of the club to bring in young players and also promote from our academy."
