Goals from Willian Popp, Bontawee Theppawong not enough and it's a single point for the Kirin.

The second half began with a single point for Muangthong United at The Thunderdome against last season's Thailand champions BG Pathum United.

Winger Willian Popp put Muangthong United into the lead early on in the match, heading in the cross from Wattanakorn at the 12th minute.  The score remained 1-0 for Muangrhong United at halftime, however early in the second half BG's Diogo tied it up for the champions.

BG Pathum United then went ahead at the 55th minute following a VAR review that confirmed there had not been a foul in the lead up to the goal. Muangthong United wingback Boontawee equalised at the 75th minute, finishing with a shot from inside the box.  Once again, a cross from Wattanakorn led to a goal, this time after a defender was unable to head the ball clear.

Muangthong United have a busy start to the second half of the season, with league and FA Cup matches scheduled.  In just a few days Muangthong will play Uthai Thani FC in the Chang FA Cup.
