SCG Muangthong United advance to the next round of the Chang FA Cup after a 1-0 win over Samut Prakan City.

The lone goal of the match came early on when Wattana Playnum tapped in the loose ball following a cornerkick.  Muangthong United dominated play for much of the first half, and several scoring opportunities were created, including a shot off the crossbar by Picha Autra.

In the second half Samut Prakan were the stronger team, but the Muangthong defense was solid.  Goal keeper Sompon put in an impressive performance, on several occasions diving at the feet of the attacking players to get a hold of and smother the ball.

With the win Muangthong advance to the quaterfinals of the FA Cup, yet to be scheduled.  In the meantime, league play resumes this Sunday February 7th, with Rayong FC visiting the SCG Stadium.  Games are being played without spectators, however the hope is that the authorities will be able to open up games to attendance as the Covid-19 situation continues to improve across the country.
