SCG Muangthong United will appeal to FIFA over a dispute regarding the contract with keeper Dang Van Lam. The club wishes to explain to fans the situation after messages in the media that give incorrect details.
Club director Mr. Ronnarit Suewaja explained it is not true that the club terminated the contract with Dang Van Lam. The club had made changes to player contracts due to the financial challenges presented by the postponement of games due to the Covid-19 situation. The club has never missed on payroll, and like all clubs in the league, has negotiated salary reductions in the range of 30-50% in accordance with FIFA regulations.
The club chose to implement a 30% reduction so as to minimize the affect on the athletes and their families, with the agreement that the 30% will reimbursed once the season has returned to normal operations.
