Official Disciplinary Ruling

The Football Association of Thailand’s Disciplinary Committee has voted to suspend FIFA-grade referee Warintorn Sassadee for 6 weeks following a critical refereeing failure. The error led directly to the opening goal conceded by Muangthong United in the final match of the season, significantly impacting the final outcome and causing substantial sporting damage to the club.

คณะพิจารณาวินัยมารยาท มีมติลงโทษผู้ตัดสินระดับ FIFA ‘วรินทร สัสดี’ เป็นเวลา 6 สัปดาห์ เนื่องจากความผิดพลาดในประตูแรกที่ เมืองทอง ยูไนเต็ด เสียในนัดสุดท้ายของฤดูกาลซึ่งส่งผลต่อการแข่งขันนัดนี้และสร้างความเสียหายแก่สโมสร เมืองทอง ยูไนเต็ด เป็นอย่างมาก

The incident occurred in the 34th minute of play. A Sukhothai FC player raised his foot excessively high to challenge for the ball while a Muangthong United player simultaneously attempted to play the ball with his head. This action constituted dangerous play, forcing the player to make an unnatural header. The committee ruled that an indirect free kick should have been awarded to Muangthong United for a high-boot infraction.

จากเหตุการณ์ในนาทีที่ 34 ในจังหวะดังกล่าว ผู้เล่นสโมสร สุโขทัย เอฟซี ได้ยกเท้าสูงเพื่อเล่นบอล ขณะที่ผู้เล่นสโมสรเมืองทอง ยูไนเต็ด ได้ใช้ศีรษะเข้ามาเล่นบอลในจังหวะเดียวกัน ซึ่งการกระทำดังกล่าวมีลักษณะเป็นการเล่นที่อันตรายต่อคู่ต่อสู้ โดยทำให้ผู้เล่นของสโมสรเมืองทอง ยูไนเต็ด ใช้ศีรษะโหม่งไม่เป็นธรรมชาติ อันอาจเข้าข่ายการเล่นในลักษณ ยกเท้าสูง จึงเป็นเหตุอันสมควรที่ควรมีการเป่าฟาวล์ และให้สโมสรเมืองทอง ยูไนเต็ด ได้สิทธิ์เล่นลูกตั้งเตะ จากจังหวะดังกล่าว

Furthermore, the committee issued a 2-week suspension to FIFA VAR official Sivakorn Pu-udom for his failure during the same sequence. The VAR official neglected to alert the on-field referee to a clear reviewable error regarding the validity of the goal, only communicating a potential offside check prior to the scoring play.

นอกจากนี้ยังมีมติลงโทษผู้ตัดสิน VAR ระดับ FIFA ‘ศิวกร ภูอุดม’ เป็นเวลา 2 สัปดาห์ จากความผิดพลาดในเหตุการณ์เดียวกัน ในกรณีไม่แจ้งเหตุการณ์ที่มีการกระทำผิดชัดเจนเกี่ยวกับการเป็นประตู/ไม่เป็นประตู แต่ได้แจ้งเพียงอาจมีส่วนร่วมในการเล่นในลักษณะล้ำหน้าก่อนหรือไม่เท่านั้น

Muangthong United formally acknowledge and accept the ruling delivered by the Referee Development Department and the Chairman of the Referee Performance Evaluation Subcommittee. Moving forward, the club remains fully committed to collaborating with all stakeholders—including athletes, coaching staff, executives, and match officials—to elevate the competitive standards of Thai football.
