A new chapter in the professional career of “Kim” Dong-su has begun on Thai soil for the first time with Muangthong United. It seems the South Korean defender had heard many wonderful stories about the “Kirins” before arriving, but experiencing life inside the club and the friendliness of the Muangthong United players has helped him adapt even faster than expected.

“The players in the team welcomed me very well and helped me adjust a lot, making us close quickly. Now I truly feel like part of Muangthong United. I’m just grateful and very happy to be back playing football on the pitch again,” Kim began.

“From the first day I arrived in Thailand, everyone welcomed me warmly and helped me so much that there was hardly anything difficult to adjust to. I feel comfortable here, like being at home.”

When asked who he talked to the most during his early training sessions with Muangthong United, Kim’s answer brought smiles and pride to the Kirins family.

“Both the foreign players, Palm (Kakana Pipatnadda), and even the younger Thai players approached me first to say hello, which I’m really thankful for. It helped me adapt quickly, especially Captain Do (Tristan Do), who helped me a lot. We talked a lot and became close fast. From training, I understand why he’s the team captain here.”

We know the 30-year-old defender has gained plenty of experience throughout his career in Germany, Japan, Vietnam, and his home country of South Korea. But we hope his first time in the Thai League with Muangthong United and the Kirins family will bring Kim Dong-su happiness both as a professional footballer and as an individual.
